On the Requirements of Quantum-resistant Algorithms Beyond Cryptography (Case Study: Connected Vehicles)

Biography:
Hanif Rahbari received a Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) from the University of Arizona in 2016. He joined the Golisano College of Computing and Information Sciences and the ESL Global Cybersecurity Institute at Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) in 2018 after a brief experience as a postdoctoral associate at Virginia Tech. He also holds a B.S. degree in information technology engineering and an M.S. degree in computer networks from Sharif University of Technology and Amirkabir University of Technology, respectively. He received the NSF CAREER Award in 2023 and co-invented three US patents. His research focuses on enhancing wireless ecosystem security, specifically on connected vehicles, leakage of transmission attributes in wireless communications, applied cryptography, and AI-driven digital twins for security.
 
Low-latency Encryption

Biography:
Shahram Rasoolzadeh is currently a post-doctoral researcher at Ruhr University Bochum, Germany, in the group of Prof. Gregor Leander, co-designer of several symmetric-key primitives. He successfully defended his Ph.D. in December 2020, after which he began a three-year post-doctoral position at Radboud University Nijmegen in the group of Prof. Joan Daemen, co-designer of several symmetric-key primitives, including the AES block cipher and the SHA3 hash function, both NIST standards. His research interests include the design and cryptanalysis of symmetric cryptographic algorithms, such as block ciphers and cryptographic permutations. He co-designed the CRAFT, PRINCEv2, SPEEDY, and BipBip block ciphers, as well as the Koala cryptographic permutation. He has published around 30 peer-reviewed journal articles and conference papers, including ones that received best-paper awards at FSE/ToSC 2024 and iSecure 2016, along with three single-author papers in FSE/ToSC. He has served as a Program Committee Member and External Reviewer for several cryptography-oriented journals, conferences, and workshops. Additionally, he is a co-organizer of the Spring School on Symmetric Cryptography and has been the leading co-organizer of the Lorentz Workshop on Symmetric Cryptography 2024 and the Low-Latency Encryption (LLE) 2024 workshops.
 
Deep Learning for Zero-day Malware Detection and Classification

Biography:
Fatemeh Deldar received a B.Sc. degree in computer engineering from Kharazmi University in 2007. She also received her M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees from Ferdowsi University of Mashhad and Tarbiat Modares University in 2010 and 2019, respectively. From October 2021 to August 2023, She was a post-doctoral researcher at Tarbiat Modares University. Since October 2023, she has been an assistant professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Isfahan University of Technology. Her main research interests include network security, malware analysis, data privacy, deep learning, and digital forensics.

Biography:
Mohammad Ali Jamshidi completed his undergraduate studies in Communication Systems at the University of Tehran in 2014. He went on to earn his Master of Science degree in Cryptography from Sharif University of Technology in 2016, and later received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering (Communication Systems) from the same institution in 2023. Dr. Jamshidi is currently a faculty member in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at K.N. Toosi University of Technology (KNTU). He has extensive experience in the telecommunications, artificial intelligence, and robotics industries. His current research focuses on privacy-preserving machine learning, with expertise and interests in security and privacy, deep learning, wireless communication, and network systems.

Biography:
Dr. Narges Mohsenifar is currently a faculty member of the Electrical Engineering Department at Islamic Azad University, Shahrekord Branch. She obtained her Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Islamic Azad University, Isfahan Branch. Her research interests include cryptography and coding and her latest published paper in this field is titled "Introducing a New Connection between the Entries of MDS Matrices Constructed by Generalized Cauchy Matrices in GF(2q)".



 
Examining Methods of Providing Security and Privacy Protection in Third Layer Blockchains: Challenges and Future Horizons

Biography:
Saeed Banaeian Far received the B.Sc and M.Sc degrees in electrical engineering from Yadegar-e-Imam Khomeini (rah), Shahr-e-Rey Branch, Islamic Azad University, Tehran, Iran, in 2012, and 2016, respectively. He got his Ph.D. degree from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Science and Research Branch, Islamic Azad University, Tehran, Iran in 2023. He is now a Post-Doctoral fellow at Yazd University, Yazd, Iran. His research interests include cryptography, network security, privacy, privacy in blockchain-based security protocols, digital twin technology, Internet of Brains (IoB) and blockchain's derivated technologies (e.g., 3D Internet, DeFi, Metaverse, Web3, NFT, dNFT, etc). Biography:
Mahdi Mahdavi Oliaee received his B.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering-Electronics from Urmia University in 2015 and his M.Sc. degree in Cryptography and Secure Communications from Sharif University of Technology, Tehran, Iran, in 2017. He also obtained his Ph.D. from the Electrical Engineering Department of Shahid Beheshti University, Tehran, Iran, in 2023. His research interests include Public Key Cryptography, Fully Homomorphic Encryption, and cryptographic protocols. While pursuing his Ph.D., he served as a visiting researcher at KU Leuven in the COSIC group.

Biography:
Ali Ahmadian Ramaki received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Computer Software Engineering from the University of Guilan in 2011 and 2014, respectively. He obtained his Ph.D. in Software Engineering from the Department of Computer Engineering at Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, Mashhad, Iran. His research interests include network and system security, network and host intrusion detection and prevention systems, security information and event management systems, big data processing, and high-performance networking.


 
Unveiling Fault Attacks: A Statistical Approach to Cryptographic Vulnerabilities

Biography:
Navid Vafaei received a B.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering from Guilan University in 2009, followed by an M.S. degree from Tabriz University in 2012. He completed his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering at Shahid Rajaee Teacher Training University in 2023. Currently, he is collaborating on research projects at the Cyberspace Research Institute of Shahid Beheshti University. His research interests are primarily centered on hardware security, with a particular focus on the security of symmetric schemes against side-channel attacks, including fault injection and power analysis.


 
Classification and Evaluation of Bitcoin Privacy Techniques

Biography:
Having worked on information security and privacy during her master's degree, Simin has always been primarily interested in security and privacy issues. Currently, she focuses on blockchain usability and privacy as a researcher at SBA Research. She got her Ph.D. from the Vienna University of Technology. During her Ph.D., she had the opportunity to concentrate on crypto wallet usability and privacy-preserving techniques in public blockchains, where she published papers at top conferences and workshops. Previously, Simin worked as a standards expert, developing standards in the IT security field.
